SME (Specialized Mechanical Equipment)… that’s all we do! SME currently has five degreed engineers on staff with Professional Engineer (P.E.) registrations in Texas and Louisiana. The average Industry experience of our group is 21 years working in and around the Industrial Market place. SME was formed when the assets of Pinion Associates were acquired in 2001 by key employees. Since that time SME has leveraged it engineering capabilities to offer the most cost effective solutions to our clients.
SME is a hybrid of a sales agency and a design builder of packaged specialty equipment. We look at ourselves as problem solvers. We are able to call upon our expertise and many years experience designing, installing, operating, and servicing the kinds of equipment we sell to offer unique cost effective solutions. We have completed hundreds of projects in which we supplied all or substantial parts of the finished process plant. This is proof of our ability to provide cost effective solutions to our clients. As a group we have experience in building equipment from a simple skid mounted heat exchanger to complete field installed waste heat recovery units , fuel gas conditioning skids, gas turbine anti-ice systems, filtration systems, mist elimination systems, and mercury removal systems f0r water and hydrocarbons.
If the job needs just a single piece of equipment we can supply it. If the job calls for the unit to be packaged we can do that as well.
Through unique relationships with the manufacturer’s we represent and several local manufacturers we are able to design and package equipment in the most efficient way possible.
In addition to our core competency as equipment suppliers SME has developed a portfolio of patent protected technology that deal with cooling tower optimization, hydrogen reformer efficiency enhancement, pollution control, turbine inlet cooling, and heat integration. We are committed to continuous improvement and are constantly developing new or novel technology or unique application of technology.
